Allison Modern Tartan Fabric is a green and blue based tartan with red and blue checks. Woven using 100% Pure New Acrylic Wool this tartan is available for made to measure products, accessories, soft furnishings and craft projects. Made here in our mill in Selkirk, Scotland.
The Allison tartan first appeared in the late nineteenth century and was registered in 1882. The name was first used by two sons of Alexander McAlister of Loupe, who moved with some of their followers to the parish of Avondale in Lanarkshire. The name can be traced back a considerable time in the various spellings.
